【ZYGO Business Unit - Service Engineer】

Job title: Service Engineer, ZYGO BU, Ametek Japan

Location: Tokyo office

Overview
AMETEK Japan ZYGO Business Unit (Japan local staff for Zygo Corporation, Connecticut USA, www.zygo.com) is seeking a highly talented engineer to provide field service support to new and existing customers in the optics and high precision machining markets. This position is responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and improved customer relations. The position will also support the sales and applications team to promote sales of new tools into the market.

Responsibilities
• Answer customer inquiries regarding product operation and service.
• Service and repair customer equipment on site.
• Provide support and training to customers in the use of the equipment and repair techniques.
• On-call support to solve customer problems on tools.
• Tool installation including customer signoff.
• Generate metrology recipes for specific customer applications.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Support evaluate customer samples and generate reports.
• Communicate customer feedback on new product design to engineering and marketing.
• Consult with engineering, manufacturing, and marketing teams to determine solutions to unusual system operations and maintenance problems.
• Assist marketing and sales people in developing new applications for new markets.

Minimum Qualifications
• Engineering degree, plus 3+ years of field service experience with systems used factories and laboratories.
• Technical product experience with high performance metrology systems is desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with presentation skills are required both in Japanese and English.
• Highly motivated and an excellent team player.
• Must be able to work effectively with a minimum of supervision.
• Willing to travel 50%+ of the time.

【ZYGO Business Unit - Applications Engineer】

Overview
AMETEK Japan ZYGO Business Unit (Japan local staff for Zygo Corporation, Connecticut USA, www.zygo.com) is seeking a highly talented engineer to provide applications support to new and existing customers in the optics and high precision machining markets. This engineer will interface with customers to support sales of new metrology products and support the application existing products already deployed at customer sites. The position will also support the sales team as well to act as an interface between customers and product development teams.

Responsibilities
• Answer customer technical questions.
• Develop metrology recipes for specific customer applications.
• Provide technical training to customers and sales personnel.
• Evaluate customer samples, documenting and presenting the results.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Participate in the preparation of sales proposals.
• Help with the installation and setup of new equipment and software.
• Assess the performance of the products from a user's point of view.
• Develop, document and submit technical proposals for non-standard products.
• Assist marketing and sales people in developing new applications for new markets.
• Generate collateral support material such as application notes and technical bulletins.
• Assist at trade show exhibition booths.
• Provide technical Japanese-English translation during customer meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
• B.S. Engr., Physics or related, plus 5+ years of applications engineering and/or service experience in high performance metrology instruments.
• Technical product experience with high performance metrology systems is desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with presentation skills are required both in Japanese and English.
• Must be able to work effectively in a multi-task environment with a minimum of supervision.
• Willing to travel 50%+ of the time.

【ZYGO Business Unit - Sales Account Manager】

Job title: Sales Account Manager, ZYGO BU, Ametek Japan

Location: Tokyo office, Osaka office or Nagoya office

Overview
AMETEK Japan ZYGO Business Unit (Japan local staff for Zygo Corporation, Connecticut USA, www.zygo.com) is seeking a highly talented sales account manager to sell Zygo’s metrology instrument and precision positioning products in the assigned territory or business sector. This person will manage customer relationships and develop and execute the strategic and tactical plans to maximize the sales at the assigned accounts. Acting as the interface between customers and Zygo, this person will understand the customers’ needs, identify and recommend to the customer appropriate solutions, to ensure customer expectations are met.

Responsibilities
• Develop contacts with established customers and initiate contacts with potential customers to maximize sales within the assigned territory.
• Develop and manage sales leads to close orders.
• Book shippable orders to yearly quota.
• Provide short/mid-term sales forecasts.
• Practice results and value selling techniques to maximize sales effectiveness and minimize price and term discounting.
• Coordinate efforts of other Zygo technical and sales personnel both inside and outside the respective region to the benefit of the customer in the assigned territory and Zygo.
• Conduct in-house and on-site technical presentations and product demonstrations.
• Maintain complete technical knowledge of company, products, and capabilities.
• Fully understand and utilize company administrative procedures including quotations and RFQ’s, pricing terms, payment terms, and leasing terms.
• Provide complete up-to-date, timely, and accurate sales forecasts and call reports to the sales manager.
• Assist at trade show exhibition.
• Provide technical and commercial Japanese-English translation during customer meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
• B.S. Engr., Physics or related, plus 5+ years of B-to-B sales experience in capital equipment’s.
• High performance metrology instrument sales experience into optical and high precision machining industry is desired.
• Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills along with presentation skills both in Japanese and English.
• Must be able to work effectively in a multi-task environment with a minimum of supervision.
• Willing to travel 50%+ of the time.

【ZYGO Business Unit - Administrator】

Overview
AMETEK Japan ZYGO Business Unit (Japan local staff for Zygo Corporation, Connecticut USA, www.zygo.com) is seeking a highly talented administrator to support our business growth. This position is responsible for providing administrative support processing orders, coordinating delivery, invoicing as well as coordinating with administrative staff at ZYGO headquarters.

Responsibilities
• Provide administrative support for the local operation coordinating activities involving customers, sales representatives and ZYGO sales and service personnel.
• Responsible for direct mail support activities including mailing literature and maintenance of customer mailing list.
• Facilitate customer orders from purchase order to shipment and billing on all products including the OEM product business. OEM product delivery preparation may include packing, creating labels, data sheets and shipping vouchers. Inform customer and sales representative of shipping date, anticipated delays and any additional information needed by the customer.
• Coordinate production schedule with factory and expedite orders when necessary to ensure timely shipment.
• Work closely with OEM customer on orders, shipments, and forecasts on a regular basis via telephone and e-mails.
• Coordinate with carrier, import and export agents for incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Keep all records of incoming shipments, inventory, and deliveries. Report order status and backlogs on a daily basis.
• Coordinate with accounting groups to support required financial activities and reports.

Minimum Qualifications
• Associate degree, plus 3+ years’ experience as an B-to-B administrator or sales assistant. OEM sales assistance experience at a foreign affiliate company is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Japanese and English.
• Strong PC skills and order process knowledge.
• Highly motivated and an excellent team player.
• Excellent telephone and personal presentation skills.
• A sense of urgency for getting the job done, properly and accurately.
• Must be able to work effectively with a minimum of supervision.
